Financing Almost Everybody!

Morgan has helped and taken over many businesses which the political cartoon represents. He's even helped Santa Clause!

J.P. Morgan is one of the “Captains of the Industry” during the gilded age. He was a financier who ruled the corporate finance and industrial consolidation. “Morganization” was a term people used when Morgan turned struggling businesses into profitable ones by taking it over and restructuring the management. Many investors and owners that have had his financial help became very successful and are still running today. He merged the Carnegie Steel Company and several other steel and iron businesses to for the United States Steel Corporation after he financed the Federal Steel Company. Morgan also arranged the merge of Edison General Electric and Thomson-Houston Electric Company to form General Electrics. He has also helped the owner of the Chattanooga Times purchase the New York Times which was financially struggling at that time.
