The project is intended to provide you with first‑hand research experience and to illustrate the concepts and methods discussed in the classroom. The project involves the following stages:
- selecting a topic,
- conducting exploratory research and submitting a Project Proposal,
- designing a questionnaire and collecting the data
- analyzing the data, and
- preparing the final report and presentation
You will find these stages increasingly time-consuming as you progress through them. To help you navigate them efficiently, the following benchmarks must be achieved at specific points of the project:
- Before starting Stage 2 (conducting exploratory research) you must complete the Business Research Tutorial.
- Before starting Stage 4 (analyzing the data) you must:
- complete Statistics Quizzes 1, 2, 3 & 4 and score 70% or more in each
- complete the SPSS Quiz with a score of 70% or more
To help you master the material for these quizzes, there are 5 Statistics Tutorials and several SPSS Tutorials available online (look under Resources). I strongly recommend that you view these tutorials before you take the quizzes. Because all these tutorials and quizzes will take quite a bit of time, you are advised to work on them through the semester as shown in the course schedule.
All deliverables must be posted online (submit each as a “new post”, with the assignment type, e.g., “Project Proposal” and group number, e.g., “Group 1” as the categories associated with the post) for viewing and commenting by your classmates.
