I have chosen to photograph The Financial District (Fi-Di) for many reasons. The simplistic life that the neighborhood provides is something that can be enjoyed by people from all over. The quick advancement of the overall neighborhood since the 2001 terror attacks is something to be impressed by. Fi-Di shows us futuristic culture and entertainment in ways we have never seen before and it is something not to be missed.

Though your intro alludes to a supposedly lively Financial District, I feel that your photos feel more lonely or even stand-offish at times. I blame the overcast sky and linear landscape for making it hard to see Fi-Di for anything other than coldly corporate in your set. But even then, I really like the feeling of distance between you and your subjects coupled with the space between your subjects and their surroundings. The uninhibited looks on the people’s faces is very telling of the neighborhood. In my opinion, there is story here, just not the one you wanted to tell.
I like the first photo of Financial district being seen through a fence. It is a great opening of your gallery. It expresses a gateway to what Financial district is like to me
