On February 14, 2016, the Lunar New Year Parade took place in the heart of Chinatown from the beginning of Mott Street to the end of Grand Street. People were lined up alongside the gates with police officers nearby to ensure everything would go smoothly. The Parade was a mixture of loud cheering, dancing dragons, and extravagant speeches that promoted the year of the monkey. Despite the extremely cold weather, the performers, volunteers, and the crowd were still as energetic as ever.
