My first three months at Baruch have been better than I expected it to be. I have managed to make friends, keep up with my school work, and enjoy all the different food places this area has to offer. My first impression of Baruch was that it was a commuter school. Although not entirely wrong, it’s not so bad. Being part of a learning community has made it so much easier to be able to bond with other students. Having them as friends makes coming to school worthwhile. I thought Baruch was going to be dull because people believe that students just come and go; there’s no college life style. While it might not be the college experience I was looking for, I don’t think it’s so bad if you put in a little effort.
My favorite thing about going to Baruch, well college I general, is that I don’t have classes on Fridays. Thursdays are the new Fridays and Fridays are the new Saturdays. I think it’s great to have that extra day to sleep in and not have to worry about getting to school on time. Baruch has also offered me my first job and my first internship. I’m gaining the skills I need to succeed outside of the classroom.
I look forward to my next couple of years in Baruch and hope that they are better as time goes by.
