Enrichment Workshops & More…

In my opinion, I enjoyed all of the workshops we attended because I learned different things from each one of them. They opened up my mind to the different possibilities that can be created from small things such as art. For example, when we attended the Mishkin Art Gallery, the overall theme of the art pieces was music, specifically jazz. The speaker told us how the people in each one of the paintings were significant to the tone which it set off. I remember one of the art pieces contained a man in a diagonal pose which sprouted a sense of enthusiasm and dynamism. Additionally, we also attended the workshop with the media and how it can be unreliable at times. When we watched the clip of the girl who faked the disease, it was very interesting and astonishing. After this workshop, I realized how much it matters to research and use appropriate and reliable sources because it is a big deal. Both of these workshops showed me how little things can make a big difference. Furthermore, besides the workshops, the voices at Baruch also inspired me and many of the voices got to me as well. The actors did an amazing job of bringing writing to life and showing us the feelings in the writing. This actually got me to think that the free writes we did were for a certain purpose and it is actually a very good exercise for our minds to be relaxed and put everything on our minds on to paper and sharing it if we’d like. All these experiences I had in Freshmen seminar served a very essential purpose and it is a privilege that we had a chance to do these nice things.
