Iranians Take Control

Iranian Hostage Crisis
The Iranian Hostage Crisis: Iranian students capture workers at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran. 66 Americans were taken hostage and kept for 444 days. The crisis was mainly caused by continuing U.S. support for the Iranian Shah, who had been overthrown, and lack of U.S. support for the Iranian Revolution.
