How to Remember the Civil War

Eric Foner completely agrees with David Blight in his review on “Race and Reunion”. After reading this review, it showed me that there can be a lot of different ways to remember a particular event. David Blights “Race and Reunion” can indirectly show us the difference between recording history and remembering history. Recording history is just simply writing down what happened and in the order it happened in. But remembering history is different. Remembering history is learning the meaning behind a specific event; like why this happened and what the people had to go through. Thus I think that history should be seen from more than one perspective.
