The Truman Doctrine

In 1947, President Henry S. Truman passed the Truman Doctrine.  The Truman Doctrine stated that the United States would support Greece and Turkey with economic and military aid to prevent the communist to take over.  The policy spent over hundreds of millions of dollars on the region, but did not use any military forces. The Doctrine tried to not let the Soviet to expand. If Henry Truman never became president and made this doctrine, the United States might be taken over by the Soviet. The communist will slowly take over Turkey and Greece and expand all the way to America. Then the fear of the Americans that the communist will take away their freedom would come true.
