Women during the 1950’s attained freedom in a sense that they had more time to themselves for leisure. With the creation of the many home appliances that replaced manual labor, women were allowed to spend less time on house chores and enjoy life. Housewives became less busy and in turn, partook in events outside of home. Whether it be for enjoyment or for business, women contributed and played a larger role in society, instead of staying home.
