Ms. Bryant: a respected teacher in Shellbank middle school.
“Put that book down!” She commanded one of her students with a loud voice. She is still the same teacher as I last remembered her 8 years ago during my middle school period.
Lee Bryant taught in Shell Banks middle school for over 13 years. She has guided and motivated many students to improve themselves and reach their goals. She has become a role model to them as she has accomplished many goals in her life. She received her Bachelors’ degree in English in 2002. She later got her first Master’s degree in Secondary Education in 2007 and an Administration Certificate in 2010, both from Long Island University. From there, many of the already graduated students often come back to Shell Banks to visit her and seek her advice.
I spent a whole day, following her and see how she teaches and interacts with students under a different perspective.
“Things that you need to do will not get you in trouble, only things you want to do will” is what she says as she lectures this student for his poor actions.
In her mind, she’s thinking which student should she pick first.
“Hamlet” is one of her go-to literature works to teach her classes.
“Today’s objective is to discuss Scene 4”
One on one discussion with her student.
“My children grow me up…….except for my dog” as she reads her poem that she created for her disobedient dog.
“My purpose is to educate you guys and make a small difference each day.”
Discussing the concept of marriage with her class.
“I always made decisions outside of my boundaries in my life to better myself.”
Rehearsal with honor students in the Arista/Archon program.
Telling students to quiet down, so she can proceed to give directions.
She gives a surprise look to her student as he tries to give her a fist bump.

Hi Eddie!
These are really great, and I think it’s so interesting that you chose to go back to a teacher you had in school. It’d be good maybe to have a little sentence in the paragraph about why you chose to take pictures of her. The portraits are really good, I especially like the shot you got of her pointing at the board. It’s good that you got her in action, doing what she does, and you definitely capture how energetic she seems to be.
