Director
As Director since 2016, Allison oversees the overall strategy of the CTL and has been involved in college and CUNY-wide conversations and initiatives to promote pedagogical excellence in all modes of instruction. Most recently, she led the CTL through Baruch’s transitions to online teaching during COVID and then its return to in-person teaching. Over the years she has expanded the CTL’s work in open pedagogy and open educational resources. Her background as a consultant working with design-thinking strategies informs her work to develop programming and resources that are empathetic to the needs of students and faculty. She is also a full-time Lecturer with a focus on Entrepreneurship in the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management. She currently teaches the capstone course in the Zicklin Executive Programs MBA in Healthcare Administration. Prior to her role at the CTL, she was a co-founder of Baruch’s MakerHub and developed new courses such as “Business Meets 3D Digital Design and Fabrication” and “Women and Entrepreneurship”. She received a Presidential Excellence Award for her service to the college and was the first recipient of the Zicklin Hybrid Online Teaching with Technology Award for her work in curriculum development. She holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship Management from Baruch College and a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University, in Theatre.
