How do we talk with students about classroom norms during these times? Join this CTL conversation to brainstorm, listen to, and talk about your and your colleagues’ experiences.

CTL Conversation: Webcam alternatives for classroom participation

Online

You may have seen or heard about new guidance from the university about having students on camera during live class sessions. Simply summarized, faculty may not require students to turn on their cameras, they must obtain consent from students to be recorded, and they must inform students of these things both in the syllabus and in person. In this conversation, we will have an open discussion about how to meet the requirements in a way that aligns with your course goals. We welcome your experiences and the strategies you’ve used to make your class sessions more active and student-centered, with or without cameras on.
