What’s up doc?

This war propaganda features the popular character Bugs Bunny trying to convince Americans to buy stocks. Behind Bugs is Archibald Willard’s revolutionary era painting “The Spirit of ’76.” The cartoon combines elements of patriotism with a popular character in order to reach a wider audience. At one point, Bugs Bunny puts on black face make up and entertains in a stereotypical manner.
