How can we support students experiencing trauma and other mental health difficulties so they can fully participate and succeed in an educational environment? We invite you to join faculty across the college for this special event co-sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Counseling Center as part of the Trauma-Informed Baruch Initiative. Come hear from experienced faculty and therapists on what trauma and mental health symptoms might look like in the classroom, strategies to promote empowerment, safety and trust, and how faculty can best identify students needing additional support and connect them with the resources they need to thrive at Baruch.
Speakers: Kathryn Ford, MPH, LCSW, Program Manager, Trauma-Informed Baruch Initiative & Jael Amador, Ph.D., Student Psychological Counselor, Counseling Center
Facilitators: Lisa Blankenship, Interim Director, Center for Teaching and Learning & Katherine Tsan, Digital Pedagogy Manager, CTL
