Assessing Multimodal Assignments

Multimodal assignments ask students to use more than one of the modalities (i.e. visual, audio, gestural, spatial or linguistic) to create a meaning. A common typical multimodal assignment is asking students to develop a PowerPoint slide deck to use while delivering an oral presentation. Another multimodal assignment might be a photo-essay. Earlier in the semester we explored various assignments. In this curated forum, we explore what ways faculty from across disciplines have approached assessing the work.
