Faculty Approaches to Vocat

September 22, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT

Vocat, Baruch’s multimedia uploading and assessment platform, has been used in many ways to facilitate distance learning. In this webinar, Professor Lauren Aydinliyim of the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management will discuss how she has used Vocat both to distribute her own content and to accept student submissions. Uses include:

• Sharing pre-recorded lectures or other course content for asynchronous viewing and interaction.
• Having students upload individual or group video assignments, such as presentations that are typically done in class.
• Creating a virtual group rehearsal space where students can share videos and give each other feedback before submitting a final version.

Craig Stone of the Center for Teaching and Learning will then demonstrate how to set up your course in Vocat for these uses.

If you’re unfamiliar with Vocat, please view our recorded “Vocat Bootcamp” before joining this session.
