Request For Proposals for the CUNY-wide Teaching and Learning Conference *deadline extended to Dec 18th*

The CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy (CITA) is proud to announce the CUNY-wide Teaching and Learning Conference, designed to support, elevate, and recognize faculty teaching excellence. Join us in person on March 22, 2024, at the CUNY Graduate Center, as we bring together faculty from all campuses to explore innovative pedagogical practices, share insights, and inspire the future of education.

About the Conference

The CUNY Teaching and Learning Conference is a celebration of teaching excellence and a commitment to creating a thriving academic community. Our mission is to foster inter-campus collaborations and mentoring relationships related to teaching that will enhance the learning experience for our students. Additionally, the conference aims to cultivate a culture of professional growth at all stages of development and a stronger sense of belonging among CUNY faculty participants.

Conference Goals

  1. Promote pedagogical excellence: Recognize and celebrate outstanding teaching practices that transform the lives of students.
  2. Share best practices: Create a forum for educators to exchange innovative ideas, strategies, research findings and approaches to publishing scholarship in teaching and learning.
  3. Inspire lifelong learning: Encourage a commitment to continuous professional development among educators and learners alike.
  4. Foster collaboration: Facilitate connections and networking among participants from diverse educational backgrounds.
  5. Advance educational technology: Explore the integration of technology in education and its impact on the learning experience.

Request for Proposals (RFP)

We invite presentation proposals in various formats, including talks, panel sessions, workshops, and poster presentations. Share your expertise and insights on topics such as:

  • Student-Centered Pedagogy
  • Teaching Innovation
  • Inclusive education
  • Student engagement
  • Educational technology
  • Pedagogical approaches to AI
  • Experiential Learning
  • Alternative Assessment
  • Discipline-specific or Interdisciplinary teaching and learning
  • Learning across different modalities
  • Metacognition (including career- and world-readiness)
  • And more: We encourage proposals on any topics related to teaching and learning

We encourage all CUNY faculty, including adjuncts and graduate teaching fellows, to participate and contribute to the growth of the academic community.  We welcome faculty/student joint presentations. This conference is your opportunity to inspire, learn, and connect with your fellow educators.

  • Notification of acceptance: February 9, 2024
  • Registration: January – March, 2024
  • Final Registration Deadline: March 14, 2024
  • Conference Date: March 22, 2024
