Hosted by: CUNY Central Office of Academic Affairs
Join us for a workshop guided by The LGBTQ+ Student Center on how to include best practices for LGBTQ+ inclusivity from the syllabus to the classroom, and where to direct students if you do not know the answers. We will discuss the importance of affirming student pronouns and preferred names in the classroom; unique risk factors in LGBTQ+ youth and affirming campus resources. CCNY faculty will describe their experiences as queer faculty mentoring queer students. During this session, we’ll present some models for supporting LGBTQ+ students and start a CUNY-wide conversation on this topic.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning Student Center is a collaborative resource dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and supporting LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and faculty at CCNY.
