Using Vocat to Foster Student Engagement

Looking for ways to get students to interact more with recorded lectures, course-related media, or their classmates’ assignments? Vocat  can help! This home-grown tool provides hosting space for video, audio, and images, and allows students to interact with those files via time-stamped annotations, threaded discussions, and rubric-based peer reviews. We’ll discuss how those features can be used to generate student participation and discussion, with examples from classes that have used Vocat in the past.

This webinar will cover:

  • Initial course setup.
  • Uploading your own content.
  • Having students upload media for assignments.
  • Annotating and commenting individually, in groups, or as a class.
  • Managing project settings to open up different types student engagement.
