This workshop will explore “asynchronous” and “synchronous” definitions of instruction both in terms of their Summer 2020 course listings and as teaching practices—and how they relate to developing course content and classroom community.
Interested in having your students submit presentation videos or other multimedia assignments this summer? Want to upload your own videos for students to view and comment on? Vocat offers an easy-to-use space for uploading and interacting with video, audio, or image files. Features include time-stamped annotations, threaded discussions, and rubric-based scoring. This Vocat primer will help you get your course sections and projects set up for the summer semester. We will demonstrate how different project settings allow for different assignment types, how you can use Vocat for lectures or other course content, and what your students see when they log in. No prior Vocat experience necessary.
