When I first began to write the Literacy Narrative I was stuck. Introductions have always been a problem for me. Not necessarily knowing how to start off the paper in order to truly engage the reader. Because I become so overwhelmed with the introduction, it affects my writing throughout the rest of my paper. My first draft didn’t have much to work with, the main problem was that I had put in all my effort in my introduction as opposed to the rest of the paper. After the peer review I was on a better path. I understood their critiques and how I need to express myself more in the storyline of my involvement in my discourse community. I’m glad I was given class time to not only have my work revised by my peers but to also revise their writing as well. We often miss our own mistakes in our writing so having peer review apart of the process really helped my writing process as it helped me to understand the flaws of my paper I didn’t realize at first such as grammar, diction and etc.
