Interview Questions
Hi, my name is Amari and I’m from Queens, NY. I am a very outgoing person and always down for any activity. Very in tuned with music despite my liking for DaBaby. I also enjoy watching anime and playing a variety of sports (can’t be guarded in both basketball and soccer). If I had the chance to fight one person who’s alive today that I know I’d beat, it’d probably be Kevin Hart. I feel like our fight would be a great pitch for a movie, causing me to be famous and insanely rich.
I interviewed Amir, who also lives in Queens. He loves Asian food and Barcelona which I’m still stuck on the fact why anybody would support such a sad team. Apart from that, he plays soccer/volleyball and is a bit of a sneakerhead.

Class Introduction
Ray’s Question: “What are three things you like about yourself?”
1: I’m an understanding person
2: I find myself very funny
3: It’s not something you should like, but I like to disregard my personal problems to help the people i really care about sometimes. It actually does benefit me even if it may seem it doesn’t but i do enjoy being “that person” for someone to go to when they need advice or to just talk in general.
Summer’s Question: “If you could get away with it, what crime would you commit and why?”
— “I wouldn’t do any because it’s just the type of person i am, even if i could i just wouldn’t I don’t see the point in bringing myself those types of complications, even if yes, I can get away with it quote on quote.”

Interview Questions
Hello! My name is Summer Green and I am a freshman here at Baruch College. The interview question I will be telling you about is as follows: “What do you consider the greatest threat to your happiness?”. The answer to this question is much simpler than you may think, thought I have to tell you a short story to get there. I consider myself the greatest threat to my own happiness. I feel like the years following 2020 and the pandemic have been surrounded around the idea of self awareness and getting to know who you are and how you think. I used to feel like my mood was dependent on the factors around me. Things as little as the weather used make me feel better or worse. Recently I’ve broken out of this mentality. I now refuse to let others affect the way I feel— the way I carry myself. However, this has also opened my eyes to how often I tend upset myself. Removing the blame from outside factors has put a spotlight on what’s on the inside. I’m dramatic and I tend to overthink, but I do not consider those to be negative traits. I actually appreciate that about myself, and consider it being mentally prepared for the worst. Becoming aware of this has allowed me to better control my mindset. I decide how I feel, and I decide how to handle those emotions. I’ve decided in some situation to just… not get upset, and I continue to practice these techniques. Next on the list is learning how to avoid self-stress :).

In class, Ray and I talked about several of the interview questions but the one I will focus on is “What would you like to accomplish this semester?”. We agreed on the answer to this question, as he said that he would like to be more organized in order to stay on top of things. He mentioned going back to review materials as necessary in order to be as efficient and productive as possible.

Interview Questions
My name is Debbie. I am a freshman and I’m majoring in political science. The interview question that I chose for myself is “what are three things you like about yourself”. I like that I am ambitious, mindful, and kind. The career I am working towards means a lot to me. It’s something that I have wanted since I was a kid. Working towards my goal has made me ambitious and the people around always label me as such. Being mindful is important to me. I feel like it’s important that you know that the decisions you make affects you and other as well. I am an avid believer that you should treat people the way you want to be treated. I make sure to treat everyone I meet with respect and kindness. If I may not get good vibes off of someone, I just make sure to keep my distance. But if that person talks to me, I will be kind to them but just keep my distance.
I met Abagail and Ibrahima. Abagail is from Brooklyn and Ibrahima is from Guinea which I found interesting. Ibrahima’s favorite show is “You” on Netflix. We were both surprised that Abagail never seen it and recommended it to her. We started talking about what superpower we wished we had. Ibrahim said he wanted to be able to read minds. Abagail and I agreed on teleportation. I am very lazy when it comes to going somewhere even ten minutes away from my home, so this ability would be perfect for me.

The person I interviewed was mimir . He told me three things about himself, and it is his major which is CIS, another thing he told me was that he likes collecting shoes and reselling them, and that his favorite sport is basketball but he doesn’t mind playing soccer. he also has a dream car which is a specific Ford from the year 2023 model.

Interview Questions
Hi, my name is Abagail and I’m from Brooklyn. This is my second semester at Baruch and I’m majoring in history. From the interview sheet, I chose “What brings you the greatest happiness when you think back on your life so far?” This question stood out to me because I can think of multiple answers, such as my friends and family, alongside music and concerts. Spending time with the people that I love is important to me, as it’s not often because of conflicting schedules. Concerts also bring me great happiness as I get to see my favorite artists live, interact with them and bring along whoever.
During our first class, I spoke with two people, Debbie and Ibrahima. We talked about multiple questions from the sheet, but also came up with our own. Two that we answered from the sheet were “What superpower would you have?” and “What would you add to your personality?” For the first one, Debbie and I answered teleportation, meanwhile Ibrahima answered mind reading. In the second question, we all had the same answer, which was to be more outgoing. The ones that we came up with included our music taste, what classes we took last semester, and where we’re from.

Interview Questions
Hi everyone! My name is Ariel. If I could do whatever I wanted, I would be a dictator. But in a good way, definitely not like those we have seen in history, unfortunately. If I was a dictator, I would immediately tax the rich, to create a fund pool where I can distribute the money towards need based assistance programs and education. I would put a cap on medical exploitation, meaning no more private insurance or private medical companies. I would fix the MTA trains, remodeling infrastructure, the homeless, and the millions of rodents confining the city. I would also make it illegal to raise the prices of neighborhoods/apartments past 1.5k when the apartment is barely functional or not big enough for a single person’s belongings. I have plenty more, especially regarding child care and crime rates. Learning about politics has told us that many individuals that influence the President’s laws, many of whom are biased. So if I could do anything I wanted, I would do everything just right, for the people. Thanks!

For our class icebreaker, I had Yineldi. I asked her if she could commit any crime and get away with it, what would it be? Yineldi responded that “at this point, I would rob any bank” because she wants money, which I completely resonated with.
I also asked her a second question on what kind of superpower she would like to have. Yineldi said that it would be teleportation, because if she had that, she would have used it for this class. When I asked how, she very hilariously pointed out that she could have just opened her eyes, teleported, and been right there in that seat instead of waking up at 5am and coming here. Thanks Yineldi for the funny responses!

YuHan Wang Interview Question
Hello everyone, my name is YuHan Wang. Obviously I am a student at Baruch college, and my intended major is finance. I love to play badminton, listen to music, and watch anime. The majority of my playlist are Chinese and Japanese, either fascinated by the lyrics or rhythm. Apparently there is a cloth brand named YuHan Wang as well. As required, I must answer one of the interview questions, which will be: Of the people I know, who has a quality that I am most envious of? I am envious of Junlin Jiang, who has the quality of public communication. He is capable of socializing with everyone he meets and consistently finding interesting topics to maintain the conversation, which I determined to be an amazing skill since Baruch is a business school that requires networking but couldn’t copy it. Here is an interesting anecdote about myself that I would like to share whenever I need to introduce myself. This happened back in China, when I was three years old. When I was on the train back in the old days, there was a gap between the train station and the train, which is capable of fitting me. I accidentally fell in between when the train stopped, but luckily I was stuck between the platform of the station and the rail, which wasn’t as deep as unreachable from the platform. There was a moment I thought I was going to die but I was saved. I do not believe anyone here has the similar experiences as I do.

Now let’s introduce my interviewee, Anu. We did not ask each other any of those interview questions because I personally felt it was a little too awkward and unusual, so we continued as a casual conversation with common questions. She’s originally from New Jersey. She loves hanging out with friends, as well as reading. Surprisingly, she dorms at Baruch, which is not universal at Baruch since the school is located in the center of Manhattan and commuting is convenient. Her major is psychology. We both thought the school is anti-social because everyone seems to be busy and compromising with the fast pace, and this is the main reason she believes that it is much easier to make friends at the dorm, rather than on campus. She also mentioned how she thinks Baruch is an upgraded high school, as people attend the school and leave quickly. Only the lecture hall gave us the vibe of college. Besides those, we did not talk as much.

Interview Questions- Evan
Hello, My name is Evan Rivera and I am a freshman at Baruch College. I am here to explain why I get along with people. For the most part I like to believe I have a very likable personality, someone who you can have fun with all the time and forget about the things that worry you the most throughout the day. I love to joke around and find out what interests people to use that as a way for us to have a great time. I thought for a while if I was socially awkward and it drove me insane. I slowly began to realize that I just have to put myself out there to get people to know me for who I am just as much as I get to know them.
I interviewed Brendan he told me many things about himself. He really likes music and loves to hang out. He really expressed his love for partying and going out with his friends on a weekend. I then asked him if he could have one superpower what would it be, he replied with the ability to read minds and I’d have to agree with that one. A very useful and unique superpower to have and Id definitely choose that one too. I really enjoyed my conversation with him and look forward to more in the future with everyone else in the class.

Interview Questions
Hi everyone, my name is Tracey! I’m a freshman here at Baruch. The question I will be answering about myself is “ What book has had the most profound impact on your life?”

I love reading, so there is a lot of books which have moved me deeply, but a book that has had the most profound impact on my life, is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I know a lot of people read this book in middle school, but I hadn’t read it up until a year ago. This book dives into the painful and complex lives of Afghan women against the backdrop of war. Although it is a heartbreaking story, I love this book because of how beautifully it is written. If you’re ever thinking of picking up a book, I hope you give this one a try!

In class, I spoke to Jael. I asked her, “If you were to write a book, what would it be about?” She responded by saying she would write about generational trauma, because it needs to be talked about more, which I wholeheartedly agree with. On a more lighthearted note, to answer the question “If you could get away with it, what crime would you commit and why?” we agreed on bank robbery.
