Topic:  Is there such a thing as social media addiction?

Question of Fact:  Some people can’t go an hour without checking some form of social media. (In this essay I will focus on the  effect of social media and why it captures everyone in its trance.)

Question of Definition:  By definition, a social media addiction exists. (This essay will focus on the way social media consumes someone.)

Question of Cause: What is the cause of a social media addiction? (I will discuss the deep-rooted connections behind addiction to social media.)

Question of Value: Does social media bring value to society. (I will access the true values of social media and its uses.)

Question of Policy: Is the excessive usage of social media sensible. (I will analyze the practicality of unrestricted use of social media.)

  1. I think your topic needs to stray away from the structure of a question because a topic is supposed to like act like an umbrella, and the question in the topic section sort of pigeonholes one aspect of social media.

  2. Hey Anaya,
    I was so close to doing something similar to this. I feel as though we talk about social media and its issues, but we fail to actually do something. You could go in multiple directions with this specific topic, as the addiction to social media can cause other problems. I thought about your question of value, and you could even talk about the positive and maybe even question if the positive outweighs the negative. I am curious to see where you take your question of policiy because many believe that to be an invasion of privacy.
