“Who do you think you are”

My name is Reid Packer.  I’m 18 years old and I grew up in Brooklyn New York and went to Madison High school.  In high school I was extremely lazy and never really worked up to my full potential.  I am pretty smart and I basically just coasted through high school do the minimum amount of work to still maintain good grades, so coming into college I was pretty nervous that my laziness was going to carry over.  When It comes to doing work I am very often a procrastinator, but I have found so far that there is no time to procrastinate in college cause if you do, you will become extremely lost in it all.  My top 3 things that concerned me in my freshman year of college was trying to balance all of my classes and stay organized, because I am really not an organized person.  A second very important topic of concern was the social life that Baruch would have to offer.  Since Baruch is a commuter school, I was a little worried with the social life I would have.  The third topic of concern I was having was would I stay in touch with all of my friends from high school that I had known for so long.  Many of my high school friends I grew up with, and since we were all going to different schools I was kind of worried about whether or not my friends and I would stay in touch.  In college much more freedom as compared to high school which is a good and a bad thing.  It is good because teachers and parents aren’t on top of you as much but then it is not entirely on my shoulders now to keep up with my work.  I think my first year here at Baruch will open me up more and be an opportunity to make a lot of friends and gain a lot more independence.
