To be honest, for me the describing yourself is the most unpleasant thing to do. But since it goes this way, I’ll try. Originally from Tromso (Norway), I was raised in Estonia and Russia. My childhood passed through 3 northern countries. So far, New York is the southernmost city I used to live in. Due to my constant moving/ travelling experience I’m a very cosmopolitan person. I Speak 3 ½ languages. Finished art scool.
I graduated from the High School 7 years ago when I was 16. Then I entered Tomsk State University (Russian Federation), with major in Japanese language. In desperate try to gain an independence from my parents, I withdrew from the university classes and moved to the States. I was 18 back then. I would say, I moved specifically to New York in chase for the metropolitan life. The regaining of my academic carrier was the main target in the last 4 years. Although, at some point it is frustrating to start college again from 0, especially when you’ve already done it before and at the higher level, I have no regrets. Baruch College seems like an appropriate and inexpensive substitute for my previous university. I hope it will help me to integrate into the New York business environment. Basically, the only concern I think about – is combining my class schedule with my work schedule. But so far, it works fine.
I don’t really feel a sympathy towards my High School life, mostly because of my mother – she was a principal there. And she was everywhere. I always was under her strict control. She knew all my grades before I heard them from the teachers. Although I do like to study and my final High School GPA was 5.0 (the highest), the lack of freedom was exhausting my personality. But if you want to live on your own, you have to pay for it. So, right now, in addition to schooling, I also have to work full-time. And It’s hard… but it’s possible.
