Hey everyone ! My name is Dana Wade
and I like to think of myself as a normal 18 year old girl, open to new
experiences and new adventures. Living in Brooklyn taught me to be strong and
independent, and it molded me into the person that I am today. New York City is
the city that never sleeps, and I decided to attend Baruch College simply
because I couldn’t part ways with the flashing lights, tall buildings, and the
hustle and bustle of what I’m used to.
I have to admit that I didn’t know
what to expect when being thrust into this new college life here at Baruch, but
I was pleasantly surprised by my easy transition with the students, teachers,
and over-all work load. I didn’t really have many concerns about continuing my
education here, besides exceeding at the work and meeting people that I can
actually enjoy being around every day. Thankfully I was lucky to already find a
group of friends that keep a smile on my face and lighten up my day. To be
honest, my Baruch College experience doesn’t seem like it will be too different
from my high school experience, since my high school gave us freedom and space
to grow on our own, resources that we had to take advantage of in order to do
well in class, and was filled with enjoyable people that I could spend my time
with.
I’m not really sure if Baruch will
change me too much as a person, but I’m sure if I continue to surround myself with
positive people and push myself, then I will be great! I definitely can’t wait
for the new opportunities and experiences that will come along during my first
year at Baruch, but I cross my fingers that I made the right decision in coming
here, and I hope that I will be able to adapt to the changes that I will have
to endure.
