Currently, I am a fresh-off-the boat immigrant at Baruch College. My high school experiences became the bases of my skills, and on top of that, I am a brand new piece of paper! Personally, I am a huge fan of black and white photography and I’m looking forward to associate more with that subject here at Baruch College. Also, like any other freshmen, I am eager to learn about everything that goes on in Baruch’s community. My top three concerns about my freshman year at Baruch College are networking, having fun and achieving the satisfactory grades that I hope for. Baruch College is a combination of education and community center. While receiving my education as an undergraduate at Baruch College, I should also establish myself as a member of the most diverse college community in the nation. Being a part of the Baruch’s community, networking is the central key of all. Therefore, I will try to build up my networking from interacting with classmates and getting involve in club activities. Through those activities, I could start building friendly relationships with other members which will be beneficial to my future life. As an individual, it is the necessity that I enjoy my time at Baruch because it is the inspiration which keeps me forward. Furthermore, a satisfactory GPA has a great impact to my future job opportunity.
So far, my experience at Baruch College is quite different from my high school experience. In high school, we have teachers and counselors to remind us what to do and how to do. In college, we have to learn how to be independent; we have to manage our time to make sure that things are getting done before the due date and have spent times to self-independent study in order meet up with the speed of the courses. Helps are always available, but it really depends on you to make the decision for yourself.
Through my first year experience at college, I expect myself to become a more independent individual, be responsible for my actions and become more outgoing with new friends.
