Hi, I’m Nick Bowden im a commuter student here at Baruch. I am a shy, loyal and honest person. These personality traits all have had many positive and negatives affects on my life. The one that has had the most negative affect on my life is my shyness. I haven’t always been as anti social as i am now but as i got older through the years i have isolated myself from others more. In high school i had the same group of friends all four years, my friends were very different from most people and so am i, so i find it harder to connect with others that don’t have the same interests, beliefs or personalities as me. I hope that during my time in Baruch i can learn to be more social and meet new people. Some of my more positive personality traits are my loyalty and honesty. The number one thing i can’t stand is lying so i try to be as honest as i can be at all times. I also am a very loyal person, i will never betray a person that trust me because that’s the way i was raised.
My goal over the next four years is too meet new people and try new things. I came to Baruch because it is the complete opposite of where i grew up on long island and i hated it there. The town was boring and had nothing to ever do, it was a very depressing place to be and although i cant yet afford to live in the city, just being in NYC makes me happy because of the endless possibilities here. My biggest concern about Baruch is procrastination. In high school i always procrastinated and got my work done, but in college there is too much work to do so. I need to learn to do work over time and not save it for the night before. I hope i can work on making a smooth transition into the college life.
