Monologue

I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to be writing about but anyways. The best way to describe me, in my opinion, is as a laid back teenager who struggles with responsibilities. Don’t we all? My biggest fears in life are God, upsetting my loved ones, and not becoming what I set out to be. I aspire to be a responsible, wealthy, and loving family man. What are some important things in my life? After God, family is at the top of my list. Without my family, I wouldn’t have made it this far. Basketball has also helped me along the way by keeping me busy while some of my peers spent their time doing things I’m lucky I didn’t get involved with. Last but not least, my car is very important to me mainly because it is one of the only responsibilities that I’m constantly on top of, making me feel responsible in a way. Simple things in life are what keep me happy. Good conversations, trustworthy friends, family dinners. I dislike fake people, awkward situations, being yelled at, and the feeling that you get when you realized you REALLY messed up. Roles I play in my life : Son, Brother, Friend, Student, Athlete, Citizen. Whenever I feel down, I think of my favorite motto from my favorite movie, The Lion King. Hakuna Matata, it means no worries for the rest of your days. It’s a problem free philosophy, as quoted by Timon and Pumba. It takes a little to get me ticked off, but takes a lot to actually get me upset. Many things in life(mostly people) get me ticked off very easily. It’s not so bad because I’m very straightforward with people, and if I see an issue, I quickly address it. The college experience so far has been a little worse than what I initially thought it would be. Assignments are piling up, tests are always showing up, and keeping up with everything has just been a hassle. It’s not that I’m not able to get the work done, I just have horrible time management skills. Out of the 7 day week, school takes up 4, and work takes up another 2, so that leaves me with one full day of getting things done. I usually wake up way too late into the day, and things go down the drain from there. I hope my time management gets better as my college experience continues, and I hope my college experience in general gets me to where I hope to be.
