For my third workshop, I attended a resume writing course. Although I already have a resume, I went because I wanted to learn how to not only make my resume concise but also how to better adjust it for college since my old one is from high school. I learned that the most effective way to get your point across is to use power verbs when beginning each bullet to describe one’s capabilities. Also, I learned that one should include the results of one’s performance, especially if it helped in earning more profit for a company. Overall, I thought that this workshop was really helpful and I feel more prepared in writing a proper resume than I did before I attended the workshop. I also liked that they gave a mini booklet to keep because I can always refer back to in the future regarding how to sharpen my resume and cover letter.
