Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the Light the Night walk, However I was able to make up for it by walking with JDRF for Diabetes. One of my closest friends/ hockey teammates was diagnosed with diabetes 5 years ago. Every year he attends the junior diabetes research foundation walk at the college of Staten Island. This year because i was unable to walk in the Light the Night walk I decided to walk with my friend in support for his Junior Diabetes. It was a fulfilling experience and I felt that I was doing the right thing by showing my support and awareness for Junior Diabetes. I will probably start volunteering more for charity because it is the right thing to do.
