I was late to register for the writing resume workshop. But I still went to learn about it. It took place in Baruch College. The instructors handed out a booklet about resumes. It talked about different types of resumes. Since I never wrote a resume before, this information was very helpful. They had different examples of resumes that were also helpful to me. I never knew there was so much information needed in a resume. The instructor also said that having a professional email is important because the employer will not take you seriously. For example, [email protected] is definitely not a professional email. The words section in the resume booklet was the most interesting thing that attracted me. “There were words that we could use in our resume depending on our experiences, and our majors. We use the word “help” a lot. Instead of that, we could use aid, facilitate, provide, and support. It sounds more interesting that way.” This quote made me realize that I use help word a lot instead of other words. This workshop was very helpful and interesting.
