Monologue

Some things about me: you will rarely see me sad or upset or angry. Life is too short to be any of those things and it can never hurt to be happy. I don’t like to hate anyone either. I might dislike a lot of people, but if I hate you then there obviously is a severe problem. Why not just get along? It’s too complicated and stressful to hate each other. Sarcasm. My sarcasm is one of the things people absolutely hate about me. I am the most sarcastic person when I am with myfriends. I love to argue. I will argue with you on any topic you want for as long as you want and I will win. I may not know a single thing about what I am talking about but with years of practice, being a good liar is something that comes in handy sometimes. I love putting smiles on people’s faces and cracking jokes and just having fun with the people I’m close to. Those traits are the ones I like the most about me. I love myself as conceited as it sounds. If you don’t like yourself, that’s not a good thing. Most importantly, I am someone that most people would put under the general term of “stupid.”  I like to consider myself…adventurous? I like doing things that, looking back on it now are kind of stupid, but I love doing it. It’s just me. I’m very random and everything I do is just to have a good time. Whether it is actually something stupid, something random, a challenge, really anything that I would get a kick out of I will do it. Ever since I was a baby I was jumping off playgrounds. One time in particular I can remember was probably when I started my now obsession with adventurous things. I go on vacation every year to a place called Glenbrook in Round Top NY, about 2-3 hours away. My cousins and I decided to play kick ball at the baseball field across the creek that ran through the place. After the game, everyone decided to be “smart” and cross over the little bridge to get to the other side. But 2 of my really close older cousins Kristin and Joe decided that the 3 of us should cross the creek through the water, hopping on boulders to get across. Now if you can picture it, the creek is about 20 feet wide and a foot deep with boulders across it. To the left of the boulders though it drops off about 6 feet into another 6 feet of water. The water runs over the rocks and has been running over the rocks for years. I yelled to my cousin Kristin “Hey! Watch me jump over this boulder and land on this one!” Nope. I slipped and fell off the rocks. I was about 10 or 11 years old so I was pretty short and it seemed like I was falling off a cliff. My cousins pulled me out of the water and helped me back to my room. I was crying my eyes out because I had hit the side of my head and I thought I was going to die, which I probably could have if I hit it hard enough. I laid in bed for hours and when I got up I looked and there was a big red blood stain on the sheets because I had unknowingly cut open my side from my hip to my armpit. Ever since that day I always feel the need to get an adrenaline rush. Looking back on that day, yea it hurt but it was a memory that I can look back on and laugh about. That’s what my goal is. I love creating memories that I can look back on and say “wow that was incredibly stupid” or “wow that was so much fun.” Life is too short to sweat the small stuff and I always love doing things that are out of the box and adventurous.
