One of the first workshops I went to was a USG meeting… it was interesting, I liked how they brought food especially since I was very hungry. It makes attending sort of worthwhile. It was interesting being there and seeing what happens, also interesting to see that the student government does have a voice and does a lot. Back in high school I wondered what exactly did my student government do, they seemed useless to me. We had Presidents but I never saw much changes in the school.
We then went to this academic advisement workshop… it was kind of boring since I remembered a majority of the things from convocation plus I already know the core curriculum by now and what’s expected of me. Then we went to this info-literacy one which was kind of different not the usual check if your source is trustworthy but ehh it wasn’t that engaging.
Then Baruch Voices was interesting, just it got really sad towards the end… I was a bit sad since no one from my LC got theirs performed. They put up a lot of depressing ones up there. I’m actually quite surprised some students were willing to put something so heartbreaking and personal about their lives, I would never have much courage to do something like that.
