Baruch has not lived up to my expectations. First thing: I know that Baruch is a business school, but can’t they offer any biomed degree? Now I might want to switch to hunter. Second: One of he security guard is a complete ***. It might sound like trivial little things, but it’s these tiny things that make a difference. Aside from that, I don’t really have anything else to say.
My first semester at Baruch probably didn’t go too well. I still haven’t kicked off my senior year highschool bad habbits. I’ve been slacking off a lot and hope my grade does not reflect upon it. Also, Calculus is ridiculously difficult. I have trouble understanding anything my teacher says because she goes way too fast. I used to like math, but not anymore.
One thing I would do differently in my first semester is that I will study more and stop slacking off I had the chance to retake the semester. I haven’t really changed since I started at Baruch. I’m still a hardcore gamer and slacker when it comes to school. It is because I have no interest in school at all. And, I still love to play Mario Kart with my friends during my free.

I am destined to live and lead a normal life. It says so in the dictionary. “John” or “Joe” means ordinary, averaged, normal, and nothing special. It is a name that is not uncommon. I will not be a CEO of any big name company nor will I be a low class nameless shoe shiner. My role in society is to fulfill a position and take on the task that many others are tackling. I will not be a known superstar. My name will not be labeled on textbooks. My life is unheard of. And if an event happens to me, it would be “Victim killed in the vicinity.” My life will be neither luxuriously filled with a fortune nor will it be bare as a fruitless basket. My voice will not be heard and my actions will not be influential to a great audience. Is it even possible to name one famous person with the name Jonathan? I honestly cannot. On google, there are many people with the name Jonathan, but I have no idea who they are. If I am not able to recognize any one of them, then they aren’t popular enough. I will not be a celebrity or an important influential figure, but neither will I be an infamous terrorizing criminal. After all, I am just a Jonathan. And although I may not end up well known I will strive forwards and put my best foot first. I will continue with my efforts in just being myself, and I might not be important to you, but I am to me.

I am just an average, normal boy that went to Baruch Highschool, and now enrolled in Baruch College. I don’t see a Bill Gates in me, nor do I see a shoe shiner in me. If you were to ask me how I differentiate myself from other teenage boys around my age, I really won’t know what to say. My interest in school is neutral; I don’t hate it nor like it. I am not on the top of my class nor am I on the bottom. I am not a talkative person, nor am I a shy person. My personality could pretty much be expressed through the story of Goldilocks. Not too much, not too little; just the right amount. Aside from that, some hobbies I do enjoy are spending time with friends and family, sleeping, eating, and playing games. I am a hardcore gamer, and I love high end big name computer games that require reflexes and strategy, like World of Warcraft and Starcraft II. In other words, I consider myself a nerd that sits behind the computer screen and I wear that title proudly.
I really don’t have many concerns about college. I just hope everything will end up smoothly. I will try my best to study hard, but I won’t be expecting exceptional grades nor terrible grades. In my perspective of college, I think it’s somewhat pointless. Not to be offending, but my teachers are not very informative. My highschool teachers taught a lot better, and I actually took useful notes in class. In my highschool, we took notes on textbook readings at home and our teachers will go over our notes as a class as well as teach new topics. In college, we are expected to read hundreds of pages in the textbook and take your own notes as the teacher blabbers about random things in class and call it a “lecture.” In a sense, we are educating ourselves. Maybe it’s because I have to get used to college and learn on my own. But then what’s the point of going to class if I can just learn by myself?
Personally, I think the first year in college will change me into a lazier person. Instead of going to school five days a week, I go to school four days a week. Also, we go to school for fewer hours and have a lot more free time. And free time for a teenager usually does not mean studying. I just hope I don’t turn into a fanatic gamer and slacker.
