My Life
http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Brandon+T+Aberion+s+Playlist+1/63503322
What aspects of your life are highlighted by what aspects of your soundtrack?
My soundtrack is filled with all kinds of music, which sort of reflects my personality because i am open-minded and into different things. Mainly i enjoy R&B music, but hip-hop and alternative rock are also genres that i enjoy. Some songs that stick out in my playlist would be “What you need” by the weeknd, a classic song by one of my favorite R&B artists and the entire vibe of the song reflects my attitude towards life. “Where I wanna be” by Donell Jones is the classic story of indecision, doubt, and insecurity that are emotions i feel occasionally. All the other songs in this playlist all have an important memory to me, how i heard the song, who i was with, etc. Music is a big part of my life, and i’m happy to share some of my story through this playlist.

Freshman Year
a. Tell us how your experience at Baruch College has lived up to your expectations? Not lived to your expectations?
To be honest, this first semester has surpassed my expectations. Initially, i resisted going to this school because i wanted to live on campus at some private school far away from home. However, the experiences i have had in the city, the people i have met, & the timeless moments i have enjoyed these past couple months have been truly amazing.
b. How well do you think your first semester at Baruch College went?
I think academically i could have done better, but my grades are decent. Most of my professors are on point, some are not the greatest but we all have to work with the cards we are dealt per se. I’m determined to do better in the upcoming semesters.
c. What would you do differently during your first semester if you could do it all again?
I would be more active in a club, and i would have took certain classes more seriously than i should have.
d. How have you changed since you started at Baruch College?
I think i’ve become more outgoing, more determined to make a difference in the world; my dreams and goals in life have grown to be bigger than what i ever imagined prior to college. I’ve grown to become more happier, ambitious, and open-minded during this first semester.
I’m never going to forget these guys:

Monologue
I define myself in many ways, but what is most important to me is that I am a Filipino. The cultural values and traditions that are part of the Philippines influence how I live my life each day. Common characteristics among Filipinos are kindness, strong work ethic, and intense passion. Another important Filipino value is the concept of family, and I always love to carry on that concept in my life. I love to my immediate family, but my group of friends from high school is sort of like my family as well. The idea of being together and being part of a something bigger than you inspires me to be the best version of myself when I live my life. Besides my race, I like to describe myself as a good-hearted person that is willing to help others, open-minded, and eager to try new things. I’m from upstate New York, and the suburbs are quite different from city life. I recently moved to an apartment in queens to attend school here, and the transition has gone well. I’m starting to get used to the crazy, strange, and wonderful things the city provides; you have to take the good with the bad. A lot of people know me for being the “sneaker” guy, and its true I love to collect sneakers, resell sneakers, and appreciate the entire underground sneaker culture. Besides materialistic nonsense like sneakers and clothes, I love art (especially photography). I took photography in high school and it is a killer hobby; it allows you to perceive the world in a different light, as well as preserve timeless memories. Music is another major part of my life; I would die without it. The beautiful aspect about music is its ability to inspire, relax, excite, and relate to my life. I am a big hip-hop aficionado, but R&B music is my absolute favorite, (most likely because I grew up listening to it).
While making money is one of my goals when I leave college, I want to pursue something bigger. I want to change the world. If I were to have a career that involved the concept of business but required the amount of passion and creativity that art evokes out of a person, I would be truly happy.

Who do you think you are?
My name is Brandon and i am filipino. However, my race isn’t the only thing that defines who i am, even though I’m extremely proud to be of filipino descent! I’m intelligent, open minded, kind, and always interested in the world around me. I also really into fashion, art, and photography and i hope to be in a career that pertains to business but ties in some sort of creative aspect or fashion-esque element.
I tend not to worry much, but my main concern about being a college student is direction. The workload, the long hours, and the sleepless nights are not what scare me (because I’m used to it). What really concerns me is that i won’t figure out my major or what i want to do in life and i’ll end up wasting a lot of time and money. Although, i have strong faith that i will figure it all out, and i’ll end up being very successful.
One other random fact about me i that i am a sneaker/shoe collector, connoisseur, aficionado, (otherwise known as a sneaker head).
Below is a picture of me with a small amount of vintage nike sneakers.
