Voices 4

I enjoyed voiced four significantly more than i enjoyed voices 3. I felt that the actors and monologues in voices 4 were substantially better than the performance put on in voices 3. Overall voices 4 provides the audience with an emotional roller coaster effect. Whether your laughing or crying it drags the audience’s attention in , and really makes them think. I was impressed with this performance and even though I probably would not have gone if it wasn’t mandatory, Im glad I did.

Rubin

There are certain specific events I remember about our trip to the Rubin Museum. I remember being skeptical about leaving my schoolbag holding about $2,000 of technology in the main lobby. So i took out my ipad and walked around the museum with it. After i got over that , I really enjoyed some of the art on display at the museum. One specific area of the museum that stood out to me was the shrine with all of the antique furniture and statues. It was a really nice shrine and the music and gongs playing in the background made it kind of a relaxing experience. I can see why people go there to pray. I was really impressed with how crisp and clean the museum was. I would definitely  recommend the museum to anyone who is interested in that particular style of art.

A Time to Serve

A time to serve is an article with information about the United States and how  government  spending is affecting American citizens. The government is spending a large some of money on wars while forgetting about many homeless and people living in poverty. The current economic situation that america is in, facing another recession, has left many people out to dry. The job market is tougher than ever, and many people are left unemployed. I disagree with many of the proposals put forward by government in order to help secure the economy and create jobs for struggling Americans.

money savings

This was a mandatory workshop that we had to attend. I remember I had a huge psychology test that day and I just wanted to go to the library and study, but I had to sit through that painful lecture about saving money. That lecture was basically all common sense and unfortunately I felt that I had wasted my time. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but Im not one to sugar coat things and make them seem what they are not. I recommend that Baruch makes that lecture optional from now on because personally I did not benefit from sitting through that lecture.

Light the Night

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the Light the Night walk, However I was able to make up for it by walking with JDRF for Diabetes. One of my closest friends/ hockey teammates was diagnosed with diabetes 5 years ago. Every year he attends the junior diabetes research foundation walk at the college of Staten Island. This year because i was unable to walk in the Light the Night walk I decided to walk with my friend in support for his Junior Diabetes. It was a fulfilling experience and I felt that I was doing the right thing by showing my support and awareness for Junior Diabetes. I will probably start volunteering more for charity because it is the right thing to do.

Monologue

Who am I? My name is Anthony Angilletta I’m a friend a son a brother a teammate an employee .I’m a Staten islander I’m a new Yorker im’ an Italian I’m American. I’m  a student at Baruch.  People ask me why I chose baruch? Why didn’t I  go away ? I say because baruch a Cadillac at the price of a Toyota. Why go to a school that’s 45k  when baruch has a better reputation and its cheaper than my high school. Speaking of high school my experience there was much different than my experience here. I went to a small private catholic school with just 1600 kids total.  Of those 1600 kids 1599 of them were either Italian or Irish. Not much diversity. It was like I was living in a bubble. I’m not gonna lie high school was the time of my life. I could wake up 20 minutes before school , throw on my uniform and drive to school in my Audi  like there was no problems in the world. I would get out at 130 every day and come home and not open a book. The weekends were amazing. I would go to parties get drunk and just have fun with my friends. Life was carefree and laidback…How times have changed
My lifestyle changed from the 1st day I walked through the door here. I feel like I matured overnight. Gone are the days I could sleep late and stroll into school whenever I wanted. No, now I have to wake up at 6am and stand on a line to get the bus at 7am . I pile on to a packed bus. The woman to the right  of me sneezes, the man to the left of me snores.  I sit on this bus for an hour sometimes more with traffic.  When I arrive we shuffle in one by one swipe our cards and begin the day. My classes are large , most have over 100 kids . The population is extremely diverse. People of all different ethnicities come together as one as  we all  are after the same goal, a college degree.  Teachers ,teach fast and assign hours of homework a night. No longer do I spend my nights drinking a beer with my friends or going to parties. No, I now sit in a library and bury my face in a book.  I told my self I would start off strong and finish with a 4.0 average. But already I have hit a speed bump. A 61 on my first math test and a 68 on my first psych test was not the ideal start I had hoped for.  Its not like I didn’t study … I put hours of effort and practice into the material. I just failed that’s all I can say. But now I know what to expect and ill put more effort into it next time.  I know it’s hard to believe but I’m not complaining. I know I am getting a taste of what the real world is like. This college experience will make me a stronger person. It will strengthen me and prepare me for a real job. So while all my friends are away getting drunk at college, failing classes and living it up. I’m back home, preparing myself for real life, not some fantasyland. This is why I chose Baruch. To prepare me for the lifestyle I want to live in the future.

Anthony Angilletta

Hi, I am Anthony Angilletta. I am a son,a brother, a friend, a teammate, and a student. Overall I am pretty laid back and easy to talk to. I like to consider myself down to earth and someone who is easy to get along with. I am of full Italian heritage and most people consider me a guido, even though I think I am far from one. I am a die-hard hockey fan and player. There are some concerns I have about college. I am concerned that my g.p.a will be low because of my tendency to procrastinate. For example I am writing this paragraph at 11:00 pm the night before its due. Another concern is that playing hockey will interfere with schoolwork and I will be forced to stop playing. I also am concerned about the commute. I live in Staten Island and it takes me from an hour to an hour and a half to commute to school everyday. So far the one thing that stands out to me about Baruch College is its diversity. This college is much has a much more diverse population than my high school had. Hopefully my first year of college will make me more of a responsible  and independent person.
