Baruch Experience
My Baruch experience has been really good this first semester. I really like my classes and i have gotten the opportunity to meet many new people. I am taking two classes right now not including freshman seminar. I have been putting a lot of effort and time to everything i do, so it makes me confident that i will get a good grade in my all classes. I am also very excited for next semester when i will be matriculated to be a full time student. I think that this semester has been relatively easy and not much work. I have a lot of free time because i am only going to school two times a week which is good because it has allowed me to slowly transition into college life. Next semester i am going to be a full time student which i know means i will have less time to chill and more work but i am feel ready and excited at the same time. I have also learned many new things from every class i am in, like the requirements for the major i want to be. The road to graduate is going to be really long and a lot of work but i am ready and i cant wait to start taking more classes. I am also interested in being involved in the school so next semester i would differently like to join a club or maybe a frat. It all depends how my classes are and the amount of free time i have. Overall, i am very happy being a Baruch student and with the progress i have made. I am happy to have met all the different people and all the things i have learned this semester. I have had such a great time and i know next semester is going to be amazing as well.

Monologue
There are many things people don’t know about me just by the first impression I give. For example, often many people confuse my nationality. This, I find very interesting because I don’t understand why people have the idea that if someone looks Spanish they are probably Colombian. Well, I’m not Colombian, I am Ecuadorian. Also, many people when they meet me for the first time they think I’m a shy quite guy, which is not completely wrong. The thing is that I realized I am very shy when I meet someone for the first time, but when I get to know them a little bit better I become more comfortable and become more talkative. I also like to think a lot, so this makes me thinks that the reason I am a little shy when I meet someone for the first time is that i like to study the person, see what kind of personality they have and see if we can potentially become friends. Another thing about me is that I really like dogs, and all kinds of animals. Growing up I was very lucky to always have a pet to play and keep me company, until I moved to the United States when I was nine years old. When I moved here, my building didn’t allow pets in the apartments so I felt sad and lonely. Now, I really don’t care thou because I know when I am older and successful I am going to afford my own place and get as many pets I want. There are still many things people don’t know about me, even if they have known me for a really long time. This is okay thou, because I believe that no matter how long one knows a person, one can’t possibly know every little detail about the person’s life.

Community service
I think community service is the time that people take to give back to their community. I have never done community service before so i am a little hyped to find out what we have to do with my fro class for community service. I also know that when one gets probation or has a felony, they give them a certain amount of hours to do community service in order to make what ever they did a little bit better and give back to their community. I am also aware that community service can differ from cleaning a park, painting benches, going to do communitarian work in a hospital, and many other different activities. I think that all of this is very important because even tho is work with no pay because is a way to give back to the people and society because we are improving our own environment that we all live on and also help out others that are in need. Also, i think that this is a great way to socialize and interact with people that we wouldn’t normally socialize with and in that form expand our knowledge in different fields and get to know different varieties of people and cultures.

Who do you think I am? Well, to tell you the truth i don’t know. I can tell you a little bit about my self though. I am a freshman at Baruch college and my main goal is to be a successful person in life. I am from a Hispanic background and i wasn’t born in the United States, but i don’t think i would never go back to live in my country of origin. I also like to eat all different types of food, and for some reason i really like sneakers… Moving on, i have some concerns about Baruch College. My main concerns are that i know that college life is completely different from high school, but i wonder how hard i have to change my work habits to make sure i graduate and do well in all my classes. Another concern i have is that as of right now, i am not really sure on exactly what i want to major in, so im still undecisive on what my major at Baruch College is going to be. My last concern is that i know i need extra curricular activities during my time at Baruch, but my main concern about this is that since i don’t really know what i want to major in, i am not that sure into what clubs to look into and what clubs would be best for me. I think there are a couple of differences between High school life and College life, i believe that it manly involves on the amount of effort and dedication that one has to put into to be a good student. Also, the ways professors are is very different. An example of this is that back in high school my teachers would constantly remind me of when work is due, and when i didn’t do it on time i would manage to extend my time limit to do it, but iknow for a fact that in college the teachers don’t care about me at all, if i go to class or not, or even if i get my my work done. College life is something that as of right now im still adjusting and getting used to, but i have confidence that i am going to manage to do well in all my classes and my four years at Baruch. I think that my first year at Baruch college is going to change me a lot, and this is because its during this first year that im going to learn a lot about the college and also meet people on a environment that i was never in.
