My first semester at Baruch

Well now that I have completed a semester at baruch I can happily say I have made some awesome friends and I am lucky to be in the Dte groups. Everyone in our freshman seminar is special in their own way and it was a pleasure interacting with such awesome people and super funny people. I now look forward to going to college specially Thursdays because I go to shoot events on Thursdays.  I enjoy classes and the in between breaks. I have fun and even though I have a 8 hour gap between classes next semester I am sure it will pass by in a flash. Now at this time of the year everyone is probably thinking about their finals and I want to wish everyone the best of luck. Hope we all get a 4.0. When I joined baruch everyone said the only way to have fun at baruch is by joining clubs and I feel that is so true. After joining lexicon and and usg, I know that now I can go to their rooms anytime and laugh away my time. For those people who are feeling they want more fun to  their college life please go join a club you will not regret it. I hope the next semester will be as awesome as this one, if not more.

Monologue

I am Amarnath Kapoor i was born in New Delhi. I lived in New Delhi from 2000-2004 then went back to India and then came back to NYC on 4th of July (nice day to come right ??). I love photography and in my spare time read photography books or look at works of other photographers. Well after a month of college i feel things are really better now because now i have made friends and have joined lexicon (the college’s yearbook) and i get to go to most of the events and shoot pictures for the yearbook. I hope to become a professional nature photographer and have the best gallery of wildlife/nature/landscape photos. Even though i know i might not pursue photography as a career but will definitely always pursue it as a hobby. I have added a gallery so you can see some of the shots that i have taken. The only problem was that this is an old camera but anyways get to shoot with a 5d mark II for lexicon so i’m happy :) and i will upgrade pretty soon. I feel after a month of New York I have finally settled in and have started to enjoy my  time at Baruch. Hope college life gets better with every day that passes by

Who am I

Who am i?
I’m 17 , was born on 18th Jan 1994, and well honestly that’s all I know about myself, we think we know ourselves the best and we could write an much as we were asked to but now when I am actually writing about myself I’m amazed at how little I know about myself. My name is Amar Kapoor and my previous name was Ksheetiz Kapoor ( bet you can’t say it) , and I changed my name because most people couldn’t say my name and it would take me an hour explaining how my name is pronounced. I’m from India I was in New York from 2000- 2004 and then I went to India and now I came back to NY on July 4th. I think of myself as a good friend I’m always there for my friends whenever they need me however I’m not too good at taking the initiative of talking to a stranger. Back in India almost the entire school was my friend and everyone knew me but when I came to Baruch it all seemed so different. The day I had classes I didn’t know anyone and since it is a commuter school students just attend classes and leave. I wish I lived in the dorms they are cool (sorry I’m going off the topic :P ). I’m kind of the guy who acts immaturely to have fun and would do the stupidest things to make people laugh in my high school I was always doing something or the other to make my friends laugh but now I don’t do that because back in India since I knew everyone I was more comfortable with all that.
I think my college experience has been very different from my high school experience. I feel relieved now because I don’t have to study as much as I had to in India. We are taught to be self-dependent in college and our teachers don’t keep on reminding us what to submit. College is more flexible I have joined lexicon; our college’s yearbook and I enjoy taking pictures of most of the events happening in college and meeting new people oh yeah! I forgot to mention I love photography, and im really passionate about it.
I think my main concerns will be making new friends, coping up with college’s grading policies and getting a good grade.
I think the first year of college will have a positive effect on me I will become more knowlegable, will gain more experience, my communication skills will increase and I will be able to socialize easily.
