Dear Professor,

Due to an illness I was not able to attend the midterm exam last Wednesday. Is here any possible way I would be able to make it up or possibly have a re-take exam. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your time.

Who am i?

I am Christine Azeez and I am a sister, daughter, friend and a student. Friends and family
always come first and I am a very outgoing, friendly person. My main concerns
about my freshman year are making friends since I am the only student who came
from my high school to Baruch. My second concern is my grades because I have a
habit of falling behind on studying and school work. My final concern in my bad
habit of procrastination. I tend to leave things to the last minute and that
was maybe okay in high school, but now in college I actually have to work and
not just get by anymore. My college experience is different than my high school
experience, because there is definitely more freedom in college than high school.
The first year of college will change me because I would feel more like an
adult; I would be able to make my own decisions and take more responsibility
for my actions, since I will be the one directing my life.

Monologue

”The train to Penn Station is operating
on time,” is the monotonous tone I hear every morning, followed by the
ringing sound the door makes as it opens. Yep, I’m a commuter and this is my
life. Every Monday to Thursday I take my 15 block walk to school and back. I
may be a lazy person who likes to procrastinate a lot, and may prefer to sleep more
than write an essay but come on 30 city blocks a day is a lot. On an odd day
when I don’t have class, I make it my mission not to step foot in the city for
that day. It was about a week ago on my way to school, that it hit me like a
slap across my face. What’s wrong with me? Why do I dread going to the city
when it’s the most lively and entertaining place in New York. There are so many
things to do there and I’m just being too lazy to go explore. First, it’s a
shopaholics paradise with all the shopping and stores and shoes, yes shoes.
Don’t get me started on all the brands and types and colors and I’m going to
stop there before I get carried away. Christmas is coming up and what’s more
beautiful than Christmas in the city? Exactly keep thinking. There are so many
lights and window displays that you can’t just pass by Macys without taking a
second look. I can go on and on about Rockefeller Center and the tree, but
let’s get down to the real reason that us college kids love the city: the clubs
and lounges and partying. I know what you’re thinking how does this girl plan
on partying but don’t worry in about three weeks I’ll be able to. And no it is
not my birthday, that’s just the day my new fake comes. Okay I am lying again,
that’s just the day my mom gives me back my ID. Well anyways, let’s not forget all
the Broadway shows and museums. They may not be that appealing to me, but hey
they’re still there. So yea, what was wrong with me again. I got to start
living life more and taking advantage of my opportunities. And let’s face it,
they don’t call it the city that never sleeps for no good reason.
