I went to the 2 workshops in class. and my third was the resume one. Here i learned how to write a proper resume and now i have a new updated and pretty amazing resume i will use when i search for a new job this summer.

Community Service: Breast Cancer Walk

1) How did your community service work help the community? 
I believe that my help in the Breast Cancer Walk (Long Island) helped inform people of this cancer and how deadly and serious it is if you have it untreated

2) How did it make you feel to give up your time and energy to others?

I do this every year and i love doing it. One of my soccer teammates mother had breast cancer and she beat it, so every time i do this walk and service i think of her.

3) How has your community service experience change your thinking, attitudes, and actions towards others, yourself, the community, and community servuce work as a whole?

It hasnt changed anything about me but it continues to open my eyes even wider each and every time i do this.

So last weekend I went to the museum. I havent been at a museum in such a long time. It was such a thrill to see the dinasours and inventions that was at this place. It was so much fun, fun which ive been lacking. We were doing well until we saw the snake tank.

I hate snakes. Long. Slippery. Hungry. Poison. Cruel animals. You hear stories of snakes eating adult moose. I swear if one day I run into a snake I am I running as fast as I can into that dark forest.

Speaking of the darkness. Last weekend after the museum we went on the subway. Dirt. Hot. Dark. I dont know how New Yorkers do it. The map? It was so confusing. Which way is Uptown. Whats Downtown. Train A B C D E F G H I J….. Is there a Z Train? Would you even want to ride the Z- Train. Like where would that even take you? I dont want to know? I wanted out of this place. Why couldnt this be easier.

Oh man talk about easy things. How about college? I feel like im still in high school. Psychology? Calculus? Government? History? Come on I learned all this in High School. But hey im not knocking it. If college wants to give me an Easy A I aint complaining.

Knocking it? That reminds me. Last weekend I was at my girls dorm. Dam are dorms something. We were sleeping and this guy came knocking on the door. He screamed Free Willy and ran away. Such weird whale loving people.

But whales huh? We had this Carvel Whale cake this weekend. Boy. It was gross. How they sell these baffles me.

As I look back now. What a weekend. What crazy nights. 6 days until the next. I cant wait.

Hi, im John Grosso and im 18 years old. i live on long island in a city called new hyde park. i went to new hyde park memorial high school where i played in sports and participated in many clubs. the sports i play are soccer, bowling and baseball. my favorite teams are MLB-yankees NFL-eagles and NHL-devils. my favorite subject in school is calculus. i want to major in accounting here at baruch and i do plan on staying the full 5 years. i am in a relationship for a couple months now, her name is Rosa, i see her every weekend and thats how i usually spend my weekends. i have a dog, his name is scooby. usually scooby steals my bed at night and i have to sleep on the floor xD well i guess this is a small background about me and fulfills the requirement. alright ttyl

Sundays late blog. sorry that this is late its just that i was too busy last night to write this. today was decent i played in my bowling tournament. played four games and bowled a 198, 214, 189, 232. the 232 was a personal record and because i scored that high it helped me win my 5th tournament in a row. i wasnt happy with my scores though. im used to averaging 219 a tournament and this time i was below that at a 212. im hoping next time i can reach 250 in one game. Sunday night was okay instead of doing my homework i watched my Eagles. a very very disappointing lose. i was really sad so i ended up going to bed. that was my day sorry its late.

I know its after midnight so i’ll keep this short and simple. here is my daily blog. today was an amazing day. i saw R for the first time in a week. i surprised her by getting all dressed up in a suit and taking her to a museum. after the museum we went to the shake shack. my first time having it, it was decent. we got lost in the subway and walked 35 blocks x_x it was an adventure though and we do love those. after our day we went back to her dorm and i gave her the tickets. she was so shocked and surprise that she ended up crying. taylor swift is her idol and now she’ll get to see her in person. thoughout the day we did couple like things overall this was a great day because she was really happy even though i spent over $300 x_x but she is so worth it though she doesnt know the price so keep that on the DL. ive been up for over 19 hours now so im going to bed. goodnight. tomorrow i may skip the daily blog and do the assigned blog or possibly both it depends how i feel after the tournament and the Eagle game.

Today is september 16th 2011 9:22pm. Today my phone informed me that this weekend marks my anniversary with R all i have to say is thank god for smart phones otherwise i would be screwed xD well yesterday i talked about my tournament. today i qualified for it and played my first two games of it. in my first game i only bowled a 189 and that ranked me at 7th out of 25. my second game i bowled a 233 and that bumped me all the way up to rank 2nd. 233 is not a personal best but it is a tournament best for me. my next four games all come on sunday and i expect to bring home a trophy and a cash prize today i went to the bank because i realized i was poor and museums actually cost money so i had to withdraw some big bills for tomorrow. im all set for tomorrow now, im hoping R enjoys all her surprises. i keep pushing back my math homework which i should really do because its due this sunday and i wont be home tomorrow. today i actually baked, i thought id surprise R with a birthday cup cake thing haha i was so wrong, the dumbest move ive ever made. the cupcakes came out undercooked the first time then overcooked the second time. smh. tonight i plan on starting that math homework but i’ll probably just watch the yankee game. today was definitely a more eventful day than the past few.

yeah so thats it. these blogs are going to get more and more shorter bc its a waste of time on this site. peace.

today is september 15th 2011 8:48pm. another early blog. today was a rather quick day. i didnt have my first class. i actually slept until noon today for the first time since school started. it felt really good and was definitely need. the weather was nasty today. new hyde park got drenched with rain. afterschool today i started my first bowling tournament of the fall. played only one game today but i did well. i bowled a 197 with 5 strikes. my next game is tomorrow and if i bowl over a small 120 i will qualify for the tournament. it’ll be pretty easy to get the 120 so im not nervous. if i do bowl the 120 later that night the tournament begins. theres 2 games friday and 4 games sunday… saturday is an off day. at the end of the 6 games the bowler with the highest score wins the tournament, its pretty simple. anyway back to today, i ran into an old friend on the train today, i havent seen this kid since 8th grade so that was pretty cool. my day was pretty simple, the biggest thing being the bowling and thats really about it. tonight i’ll probably oovoo with R and write in her birthday card x__x i have no idea why thats taking me this long. well thats it for tonight. peace

today is September 14th 2011 7:54pm. i am writing my daily blog early today because i am exhausted from school. today i realized that i better get my histoy textbook soon because i bombed my quiz. today i borrowed a baruch laptop so i could go on facebook and aim during psychology. im going to do this more often because time flew fast. i got news that i will see R this saturday. since her birthday is monday im going to take her out to a museum and a restaurant. for her birthday gift i got her taylor swift tickets. i really think she’ll like them because shes an obsessed fan. today i also got my haircut today, i really needed it my hair looked like the end of a mop.  probably wont oovoo tonight but i will definitely watch the Yankee game, hoping Mo gets number 601 tonight. i guess today was rather boring hopefully tomorrow will be more exciting. its early but i guess goodnight and i’ll be back tomorrow.
