Charity Idea
Sorry for being late, I have not checked my inbox until today, as I usually do not use e-mail.
I believe that we should donate the charity money to toys for tots, which can be found at http://www.toysfortots.org/
The reason being is that many children who do not have the wealth and luxuries that we have, also deserve to have a happy Christmas as well. The idea here is to purchase brand new toys, so that those children who usually do not receive gifts because of their circumstances. However, with toys for tots, these children are able to experience the real meaning of Christmas and i think it will also show a lot of Christmas spirit and unite the community in supporting these efforts for the less fortunate.

Absence on Thursday from FRO on 10/27/11
Hello Professor Neal,
I am unable to come to school on Thursday morning due to an early appointment with my ophthalmologist. An unexpected corneal ulcer that has developed in my eye, my eyes have become very agitated and I can barely see out of my left eye. Sorry for this inconvenience and thank you for your time!

My name is Louis Lam. I am five feet eight inches tall, although I would like to be taller. Many people tell me that you would stop growing at the age of 21, so hopefully I grow a bit more before I reach that age. I am a fairly easygoing guy who likes to play sports. At a young age, my mother pushed me to play a lot of sports, including soccer, basketball, baseball, football, batminton, swimming. I also used to learn how to play instruments such as flute, violin and piano, but I stopped everything, and I regret that I stopped playing piano. My favorite food would be Japanese and Korean food. Even though I am easygoing, I dislike people that seek a lot of attention and try to be the class clown the least, especially if its not even funny. I would identify myself as a passive person that would usually relax, be laid back and wait for situations to unfold themselves. I play the role of a younger and older sibling, I have people taking care of me out in life, besides my parents, and I also like to take on responsibility and try to get involved in some things, like helping out others. I don’t really mind utilizing my time to help out a person in need, especially if I have the knowledge to answer their question and give them advice on all sorts of things, and if they ask in an appropriate manner. My family and friends are very important to me because they have been there for me for some of the hard times that I have been through. I am afraid of situations that are dangerous and that I do not have control of. For example if someone is a bad driver, we could get into a car accident or worse. School is taking a downhill turn although I am on the path to bringing everything back uphill. Sometimes my life sucks because I would wait at a bus stop, and the bus would just passed by me, like it did yesterday, while I was waiting in the rain, and therefore I would arrive late to school. One of my favorite quotes is from a song, and it is “The sun is somewhere shining even though it rains”. This quote sort of gives me hope, so on a bad mood or a bad day, it shows that are still positive things going on elsewhere and can hopefully bring my mood up.

A.
My name is Louis Lam. I am born in America and my parents are from Hong Kong, China. I am a first generation college student and I reside in Queens. I love to play handball, which is one of the few sports I play, although I have not been playing it a lot recently. I play handball in the parks that are located in Flushing, Queens. Through this sport, I am able to meet many people, as I play at different parks, in its own way, it is just like entering college classes. We all attend the same school, but you meet new people in each of your classes.
B.
My top three concerns about Baruch is getting good grades in all my classes, trying to discover what I am truly interested in so I can decide on my major and how to manage my time that I am given throughout the day so everything works out on my schedule.
C.
Baruch College is different from high school because for my high school, we had to take a specialized test in seventh grade in order to get in. To get into Baruch, people had to take a GED or just simply graduate from high school with a diploma. The age groups of students everywhere and the ethnic diversities are really great. Also, the commute is a bit different because you take different trains in order to get to this school. While we get to use cellphones and iPods, those were not permitted in high school in the hallways that they had, always with teachers confiscating our equipment if we were seen with it, even unintentionally wearing it around your neck.
D.
I think my first year at college will provide myself more responsibility as a student and as a person in life. Back then, you would have your professors manage your grades and force you to stay for extra tutoring. Here, at Baruch, everything is up to you, your grades, your life, your friends, your attitude on life is based on your own performance. It will probably change me in a lot of ways that I am not too sure of yet, but when the time comes it will show.
