1- Tell us how your experience at Baruch College has lived up to your expectations? Not lived up to your expectations? Exceeded your expectations?
I didn’t think too much about it when I accepted to go to Baruch but I’m glad I did go. I always hear my friends complaining about their schools but I don’t have a lot of complaints for Baruch.
2- How well do you think your first semester at Baruch College went?
I think it went well, the teachers aren’t horrible and my grades aren’t a C average so I’m happy.
3- What would you do differently during your first sememster if you could do it all over again?
I would probably look at reviews and such for the class. It would make my life so much easier because then I would be more prepared.
4- How have you changed since you started at Baruch College?
I haven’t changed much except that I try a lot harder for my grades. That’s a good thing.

This monologue is about difficulties in school. There are many challenges people face during school. The ones I have the most troubles with are tests, teachers and grades. Tests are difficult because you do not know what the test are going to be on. Sometimes you do know but you do not have the notes or understanding to fulfill it. The challenge with teachers is that they can be too strict or too lenient. If they are too strict then any minor detail that is incorrect or missing can affect your grade by a lot. On the other hand, if they’re too lenient, then you won’t be able to take the class seriously and pass the test. Finally, my biggest challenge, would be grades. Nobody wants a low GPA, especially me. The reason I work so hard is so I can get good grades. The problem is I tend to procrastinate a lot. Everyone procrastinates but probably not as much as I do. I always manage to write my essays the day before it’s due, late at night. I also tend to not write things down. I always forget, and remember when it’s too late. I always tell myself to write things down but I’m too lazy. There are so many things I’d rather do and most of the time I prefer sitting at home and watching TV. School is stressful, I expect it to be but sometimes it can be rather fun.

Community Service Self-Evaluation
- It raised awareness for leukemia and lymphoma.
- I was expecting to do some volunteer work so I wasn’t surprised or anything. I reacted indifferently.
- It felt nice, but I don’t think I helped much since I held up a sign that no one paid attention too.
- People were really nice and a lot of people showed up. It’s nice to see people caring for others.
- I learned that people work very hard to help others.
- It showed me how people organize events and it raised awareness.
- ?
- I knew people were nice and kind but I didn’t know how much. With this volunteer work, I can see it.
- It impacted me by raising awareness to leukemia and lymphoma.
- The overall experience was decent. There was a long wait and I had to stand for a long time while having to control my bladder but it was fun with all the people.
- I would probably volunteer personally every other year unless I had to do it annually.
- It’s fun and you get to meet new people but I don’t really think you learn new things, just meet new people.

Who Do You Think You Are?
My name is Lucy Zheng and I’m currently attending Baruch to see what I want to do with my life. spend most of my time at home on the computer or playing games. My top 3 concerns for freshman year are getting good grades, making new friends, and finding the right club. My main concern are the grades, I’d hate to fail or anything similar My other 2 concerns, I’m not as worried about as the first one because people in Baruch are very friendly. College is a bit different from my highschool since I can actually leave the building and come back to my classes. The wifi is also better than the one in my high school so that’s also a plus. Most professors are also less anal than my highschool teachers about lateness and attendance so that’s a relief, I try not be absent or late though. I always had problems with presenting in front of the class and I know Baruch is always emphasizing about speaking in front of the class so I hope my presentation skills are better by the end of freshman year.
