Damn, first semester is already almost done… Its been an interesting experience to say the least. I’ve learned a lot about myself that I probably wouldn’t have learned in highschool. Throughout this first semester, ima have to say that the freedom and responsibility has been what I expected (taking into account that I commute). Also the people are more open to meeting new people and generally are just friendlier. I met a lot of good people this first semester and i am happy for that. I had hoped that what people said about not chilling as much wasn’t true but in a sense it is true and that’s a bummer. Hopefully as I continue my studies in Baruch that changes. lol If there was something I would do differently in my first semester, it would have to be not procrastinating and scheduling my classes ahead of time. If I were to have done that then I wouldn’t be so stressed out about picking my classes and I probably would’ve got a better grade in my classes. I haven’t changed much since I started my first semester, but one thing is for sure, I’ve become a little more independent and resourceful. I definitely started spending my money more wisely and I would say that I’ve become more open to the idea of being in a library for extended periods of time. All in all, this first semester has broadened my perspective on things and I hope that college in the end becomes a life changing experience for me.
Its been fun fro class, hope to keep in touch with u guys…
Keep it real~ B) lolol

Study Tips and Academic Strategies~ Nathanael Lee
After reading through the study tips and academic strategies, I would have to say that setting goals and time management work best for me. Throughout college there will be many challenges, some of which can seem too hard to solve or deal with. Having set goals are really helpful when trying to overcome those challenges. It gives me extra motivation to try harder and do well. Not only that, but goals help me stay on track/keeps me organized with whatever i may be doing. For instance, I plan on majoring in the business field and so with that in mind, I would take courses that my major requires. Without setting goals I cannot work to my full potential because there is no reason for me to.
Throughout college, everyone will hear many times that time management is key to doing well. This is because time management is actually very crucial in college. Even though I havent fully perfected my time management skills, being able to do it here and there has made me realize that without it I would fail in college. I procrastinate a lot and once I become a full-time student, I can only imagine how hard my life will be if I dont start managing my time right now. Every time I set a specific schedule of when to do what, I end up with a lot of “free” free time. What I mean by that is that I dont have to worry about anything during that time because I wouldve finished all the things that were needed to be done. With these two strategies in play, I plan on making my college life very educational and fun.

Me
Hmmmmmm, who I think I am…. Well, I guess I’d start off by saying that I am Korean and I love chicken. I enjoy playing sports, working out, chilling with friends and meeting new people. I consider myself outgoing, friendly, independent, kind, and motivated. I am very competitive (in a good way and bad way). I don’t necessarily agree, but people say that I have a small case of OCD. I love challenges, not problems. I’m lazy when it comes to work I HAVE to do and I procrastinate a lot even though I know I shouldn’t (you could tell by when I’m sending this blog). I am not proficient in Korean (even though I really wish I was) and I love to eat. There are many more things I can share about myself but I’ll save that for when you actually get to know me. lol There are many things that I am worried about freshman year but the top three would have to be poor time management, not being involved in school enough, and not doing as well as I want to. Everyone says that time management is key in college and I believe so too. As long as a person can manage his/her time well, life flows more smoothly. This is also a good life skill to learn and have in the future. The reason I think not being involved in school enough is a major concern for me is because Baruch is a commuter school. This means that everyone comes to school for their classes and then has to head back home. College is where people generally make the friends that they’ll have for the rest of their lives and I think it is important to be exposed to all different kinds of people. Not only that, but if a person just comes to his/her class and then leaves, he/she misses all the opportunities that are available around Baruch. And the last one is probably a concern for almost every freshman out there. Nobody wants to do poorly their first year in college cause like that just sets the mood for the next semester and etc. Starting off strong freshman year will help set the standard for future semesters. College is completely different than high school. In college, you are exposed to so many different things that high school you probably have no idea about. What ultimately will make my college experience different from my high school experience is the amount of freedom and responsibility I’m given as well as the dorm/apartment life. College has definitely already started to change me, not in the sense of who I am but how I perceive things. After my first year at college, I’d have to say that life won’t seem the same anymore. I probably won’t take things for granted as much like the car I drive or the money I spend freely. I feel like by the end of the year I’ll understand a bit of what the “real” world has in store for me. I’ll definitely have a lot of fun along the way but in the end college will “make me or break me”.
