Baruch Voices
Baruch voices was an interesting experience. We got to hear the different stories and experiences of different people.Some of them were way to personal for me. One of them was so emotional and touching that I almost had tears in my eyes while others were full of humor.All the monologues were presented by people other than the writer of the original story which was a little surprising. I thought the students who have been chosen will be reading out there monologues themselves so that the original effect of their feelings attached to their story would be felt by the audience.

Rubin Musem
My class trip to the Rubin Museum was very fascinating and educational.I saw exhibits which showcased the art from the Himalayan culture.The museum had many statues,sculptures, pieces of jewelry from the Hindu and Buddhist culture.The atmosphere of the museum was very calm and a wave of tranquility prevailed there.There were many statues of different gods there.The two statues that i really liked were the Ram Parvati and Ganeshji.In the Ganeshji statue the god that Indians worshipped sat on a rat which worshipped the God and was its ride.All these sculptures and jewelery are so well preserved and safe in the museum.

My teenage Life
My name is Oshin Sharma .I am eighteen years old. Before moving to New York City I lived in India. I was born and brought up in India. India, the land where one can find different religions, cultures, traditions and different people following them but still everyone bounded with each other. India is a land where all the religions have equal value and people from different religion enjoy and celebrate each other’s festivals with same excitement and joy as they enjoy their own.
India is a land where one can find mixture of high class living as well as middle class families. India is the world where middle class families are known for the love, affection, tradition and culture which they follow by their heart. Moving to New York was a big step for me. I graduated from Hansraj Public School in India which has more than 5000 students. So I am very used to the crowdedness in Baruch college along with New York City. Attending college in NYC was my childhood dream .How could somebody not want to come to this amazing place? Attending college is in the city is just out of the world. Manhattan is so lively and fun. The night life is just amazing, something which doesn’t exist is India.
My hobbies include painting and listening to music. I listen to hip hop, R&B and Indian classical music. I find it really difficult to describe myself in a few words. From my friends and family, they have always told me that I’m a very nice and helpful person. I feel a sense of comfort and accomplishment whenever I am able to help someone .As there is a saying, “Take care of others as you would yourself and take care of you as you would others.” I’m not perfect ,I never tried to be .I’ve made mistakes I’ve hurt people, and I’ve left people behind.I have said things that I didn’t mean. I’m not better than anyone, anywhere I’m human.I have faults, and I’m not afraid to admit that .Besides all this I am a shopaholic. I love shopping and I guess that’s for every girl J.Speaking of girls I think I’m a little different because I don’t like putting “layers’ of Makeup on my face. It just helps you hide your scars for a little while but over time it really damages your skin. I believe in flaunting natural beauty .HAHA
.I think I am a very lazy type of a person. I hate to procrastinate work , but you all know what happens in the end. I end up rushing everything the last minute. You guys can imagine how long it took me to finally sit down and do my monologue. But yeah one of the most important things going on in my life right now is my education. I know I will have to take this very seriously. College is definitely a huge change from high school for me . Everything is a challenge for me. The high school and study pattern in India was completely different from what it is here. But you’re always going to have certain obstacles in life which you will have to learn to overcome. So I’m going to try to play this game of life and win .For now I feel like my life is covered with heaps of reading analysis, essays and exams. The only thing I love about working so hard is the three day weekend I get in the end .I make all my friends jealous cause no other college has Fridays off.({huhuhaha) evil laughter.}
I have this motto in life, I believe that as long as you love, pray, don’t screw up too bad, do what you feel is right, and live life to the fullest , because life is too short to and one should enjoy it to the fullest. Do shit that gives you happiness cause in the end you know everybody is entitled to go to hell in their own way.

About ME
Heyy, Bloggers My name is Oshin Sharma, I am 18 years old. I recently shifted to New York City. I was born and brought up in India.India is a vibrant place,just as vibrant and colorful as the beautiful saris worn by women here.India has so much to offer,because while its modernizing in many ways ,the culture is being carried along it.Even though i have moved here but i will always treasure my rich culture and history.My parents had moved to the states 8yrs ago and I stayed back with my Grandparents to finish High school .I am very close to my grandparents.They are very loving. My mom says that too much pampering by them has turned me into a brat .After all Grandparents are parents with lots of frosting.I really miss them and I plan on visiting them soon.I knew after shifting here I would have problems adjusting to the new atmosphere but I guess I’m handling that well.New York has such a lively energy.It is an urban paradise ,replete with popular landmarks,attractions and so many must-visit places.It was my dream to attend college in NYC and meet people from different spheres of the world..So far my experience at Baruch college has been refreshing and I look forward to joining clubs and making new friends here.
