Peter Jaipinta – Late Mandatory Blog #1
I am me. I am one of laziest procrastinators who would do what is necessary when it’s necessary, maybe. My top three concerns about year are meeting new people, getting used to a college environment, and passing my classes. To be new to a school, especially college, it would be difficult to get in touch with new people. But with help, one can meet anyone who shares similar interests because it’s such a big and diverse campus, which is also another concern. Since it’s such a big school, not everything will be like high school, where you share the same schedules with your friends. In college, probably everyone has a different schedule. And lastly, passing my classes. I do no know the difficulty of classes, but i should expect it to be at a the “college level” all my teachers told me about. This college experience would be different from high school because not everything is handed to you. You have to be the one who has to do what you want to do. I expect little to no help, but I did receive some, especially from my teachers and some classmates. I am hoping that this first year in college would make me more responsible and help me become less “procrastinate” because I know that everything will be difficult. I will try my best to do what’s necessary to make my freshman year resourceful, maybe.

Peter Jaipinta – A Time to Serve
I believe the value and importance of engaging in community service is how people get together to work towards a similar goal together. Not only will it bring about change, but it would also bring a community together, no matter how diverse it may be. If they share a similar goal, these diverse communities would come together to work towards this same goal, making it much easier to achieve it.
For something to work, strong leadership is required. Without a form of leadership, the project that everyone would be working towards would be disorganized and may crumble. A plan should be set that everyone could easily follow would make their projects flow more easier.
We can boost volunteerism and civic participation on campus by showing them the values and importance of engaging in service community. They would be the ones to help bring about the change they want. They may also get along and meet new people from various groups whom they may share similar interests with. If they want change, they have to be the ones to do it.
