Voices IV
Even though I’m sure all the performed monologues were heartfelt, there was only one that touched me. The story of a friend’s sacrifice in a battle with cancer sent chills through me. Choosing someone’s life over yours is extremely humble and I think there is a lesson behind it.

Rubin Museum
Visiting the Rubin Museum was intriguing for me because I’ve always been very curious about different cultures and beliefs. The shrine kept upstairs was most memorable for me as it was stunning… Loved the colors and sculptures, was definitely inspired.

Money Management
This seminar didn’t really help my understanding of money management. I found the speaker’s message to be repetitive, reiterating things that should already be common sense. The time we spent at this event definitely could have been spent towards something more productive.

I like being easy spirited and having a good sense of humor. I enjoy that I’m always looking for a challenge. I like that there are things in life that genuinely motivate me to succeed. I don’t like my insecurities or how often I seem to doubt myself. I’m afraid of scary stories and the possibility of losing myself in college. And I really dislike going into something without knowing what happens next. I feel like I always need to be one step ahead.
I find myself most happy when I’m being spontaneous and doing unintelligent things. I love being carefree and completely relaxed, doing nothing for hours on end. But, ironically, I’m also happy when I’m completely focused and zoned in on a task. I love the feeling of accomplishment. I like to explore and experiment because I love discovering new things. I’m fascinated by history, but not through the voice of a textbook. I love learning history from the mouths of those who have actually endured it. I always appreciate an opportunity to listen to someone’s background or life story. I’m content when I can be myself, when I can make someone laugh, when I don’t feel like I’m wasting my own time.
My family, my friends, and my beliefs are important to me. Making a difference is also important to me. Whether it be in one person or the entire universe, I want to say I have contributed and made a small difference. I try to make ‘sacrifice’ and ‘humble’ words applicable to my daily life. Giving up my time, my energy or my money to help someone out is a priority to me. The happiness and safety of all my loved ones is important to me.
I identify myself with the things that I do and believe in. I identify myself with my morals and my goals. I am who I am because of the traits I have and because of the thingsI feel passionate about.

Light the Night
The Light the Night walk was a rewarding experience for me. It reminded me how important it is for us to give back to our community and to take time out from our lives to serve others in need. Although our only actions were walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, we walked as a group to raise awareness for something thousands of people suffer from everyday and hopefully, we helped to make a difference.

A Time to Serve
This article essentially speaks of how a republic requires both the government and its citizens to cooperate and work together in order to flourish. Citizens have always been active participants in community service, emphasized in the more recent years. If citizens continue to serve, the nation itself will also give back. To preserve the republic, the Universal National service seems to be the most reasonable and realistic approach.

Who Do You Think You Are?
-I’m a daughter, sister, friend and student. That’s as much as I’d like to label myself on a public school blog.
-I’m afraid of not being able to balance school along with my work and personal life. I’m scared to fall behind in classes and a little scared of my English professor.
-Coming from a small school, it’s definitely strange to see so many students in one building. That, along with longer school days and a heavier work load, will take some getting used to.
-Trying new things and gaining new perspectives will gradually change who I am. As I meet new people, I know their experiences and stories will change me as well.
