Baruch Voices Post
Baruch voices was pretty good. Some monologues were funny and some were sad. The first time I went to voices was during convocation day, and I didn’t really find it interesting. I guess because this time the monologues were written by our classmates. I could even connect to some of the monologues, especially the one with the chicken nugget one which was the funniest one. There were a few which were really depressing and sad, and I heard people crying. The actress even cried herself which shows how much emotions the monologue had. It was very nice to hear about the stories of my fellow classmates. I enjoyed it a lot.

Rubin Museum Post
The Rubin museum was smaller than I expected. I guess I think everything is small after going to the Metropolitan museum and the Museum of Modern art. Compared to the Met there wasn’t a lot of varieties. But it was a nice seeing the different Buddha sculptures. I didn’t have much time to go around and look at other artworks. So I only went to the second floor. On this trip I learned a lot about Buddha, I never knew the bun on Buddha’s head was actually another head and not a hair bun. Overall it was a different environment then the museums I’ve been to, but it was a nice experience.

Sidney Gallery Post
I forgot to post a blog after I went to the Sidney Gallery, so sorry for the late blog post… When i walked into the gallery, the first thing i notice was that there was no one there. Like there were only 3 women sitting and chatting. One of them was even doing math homework or something. I was expecting a lot of people to be there. The scond thing I notice was that it was really small. I could have looked at the whole gallery in in less then 5 minutes.
Even though the gallery was small it was still very interesting. I guess its quality or quanitity when it comes to galleries. I remember there was a bunch of Andy Warhowl pictures and they were pretty unique I would say. He took numerous shots of regular everyday people in different angles. He was trying to show us the beauty of the people, and that you dont’t have to be a celebrity to have beauty. It is very interesting what the photographers want us to get out of their works.
It was nice to see the different types of photographs taken by famous photographers, and what they were trying to say through the photographs. I don’t know if I would go to a photograph gallery again anytime soon because it was a bit boring.

Monologue
After 6 weeks of college, I’ve finally came to the conclusion that high school is useless.
High school was a total waste of time. The things I learned, if I even learned anything, did not prepare me for college.
A few weeks ago, my English professor just taught us how to use commas. Yeah, I’m going to college and I’m not even sure how to use a comma correctly (I hope I’m using them correctly in this monologue). Well it’s not my fault my English teacher would spend a day on grammar, and a couple of weeks on figuring out the theme of a novel. Sometimes I think they have more to say about a book, than the author actually intended. I guess they’re just trying to waste time so they don’t have to teach grammar.
I thought things would be a bit better in Philosophy…wrong again. I found out Philosophy is involved with P and Q, and it was one of the few things I actually remembered from high school. I thought it would be an easy class because I had learned it before. Oh was I wrong, it’s not the same P and Q I learned in geometry; it’s more like, P and Q on crack.
If high school has taught me anything, it was how to procrastinate efficiently. Well, that isn’t very helpful.
I can go on and on about how high school didn’t prepare me for college, but I’ll end it here because people are already falling asleep listening to this boring monologue.

My First Blog Post
Hello! My name is Walter Lee. I am shy at first but when you get to know me I can be very talkative. Well first of all I am an ABC (American born Chinese). I know how to speak Cantonese fluently. Two of my most favorite thing to do is, sleep and eat. I just love sleeping but I think I won’t have as much time sleeping because of the amount of work in college.
My top three concerns in college are to get good grades, to have good time management and to meet new people. I hope to get good grades in class and in order to do that I must know how to manage my time more wisely. I don’t have a very good time management. In high school I procrastinated a lot and I hope I won’t be the same in college. I hope to meet more new people as the year progresses.
My Baruch College experience will be different than high school because in college there is a lot more responsibility. In high school, the teachers would always make sure you are listening in class and tend to write everything on the board. Well in college, professors will not care if you take notes or listen in class. Another difference is that in college there is a lot of freedom. There are a lot of breaks in between classes and it is up to me to use these breaks wisely.
I think I will be more responsible and have a better time management by the first year of college.
