Voices IV
I actually enjoyed this play a lot more than the previous one. There were many monologues that made you sympathize with. Lots of them were very entertaining and made me laugh. While others made you tear because they were very sad stories. I enjoyed this monologue and am actually forward to seeing next years.

Rubin Museum
I thought this trip was actually kind of fun. We got to learn about artifacts from the Himalayas. I learned that some people back then used different colors to differentiate good and bad people. The rug that we saw in the museum exhibited how the bad guys were red and the people who fought against the bad guys were covered in red on their feet and hands to show the blood that they got from the bad guys

Money Management
The presentation was surprisingly a fun experience. Harry King relates events to social networks that everyone uses everyday such as Facebook. He also made the presentation very entertaining and gave out twizzlers! He also talked about building up credit that would help you when you get out of college since we start with none at the moment. I learned that I can start to build up my credit by opening “insecure” credit cards since all the credit cards I applied to had all rejected me. The presentation was very useful when learning about investing your money and building your credit.

Light the Night
That night was a fun night to remember in the future. Lots of fun spent with friends. The walk also showed support for unfortunate cancer students and for people who had passed away with cancer. It was surprising to see how many people came to support the walk. I also saw old friends from high school there. It was a night to remember since it was the first walk I had gone to during the night. The balloons and light decoration really made the blocks in manhattan and the brooklyn bridge glow.

College is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I thought college would mean piles of homework and assignments. But I’m actually having a lot of free time to myself. I’ve also finished all my papers and handed them in on time. During these past 2 months I’ve studied more than I’ve studied in my high school career.
I love hanging out with my friends. We would stay out late and do all sorts of crazy stuff. But now since college started, my friends and I have split up. Thankfully I’ve found new friends in Baruch, and now they’ve become like a family with me. We eat, study, go to school, and even sleep together. We stay out late and go to places I’ve never heard of before. I’ve learned a lot of things about my friends I would never have imagined.
My future is important to me because I know I’m not going to rely on my parents to take care of me the rest of my life. It’ll be my turn to take care of them soon. There fore I need to try my hardest in college. Thankfully I have my friends and peers to help me with college work and issues I have in Life.
My family is important to me. Life would be very different if one of my family members were to disappear one day. After one week of living alone, it was hard not to miss them. My friends have become a family to me. If one of them were to disappear, I’d feel the same way I would if someone I’ve known my whole life had gone away.
I know that college is only started to be challenging and it will only get harder from now on. But I have nothing to fear because I have my family and friends by my side to support me.

A Time to Serve
I know this blog is a couple days late, but the reason was because i wasn’t able to get in reach of a computer to do the blog.
This article criticizes the US government and how it fails to ensure what the founding fathers of the US government wanted to create. It also tries to persaude volunteers to help the US government by saying that the government can’t thrive by itself, especially in a republican government, which the power of the government is within the representatives of the people. This is true that voluntary services is required to help increase the effectiveness of our government, but it is a fact that most voluntary services don’t pay, thus being voluntary. But especially in the 9.5% unemployment in the US, it is hard for people to be living. I personally would not volunteer for this because I still have my life to attend to. Maybe after I finish college, settle down with a career and family would I think about volunteering.

Who Do you think you are?
My name is Zhi Ming Cheuk. I’m an older brother to two sisters, a son, a friend to many, an educator to elementary school students, and a student. One of my main concerns in freshman year are my grades. Since some of my teachers don’t really teach their materials, I’ve made it my job to teach myself. Another concern is my connections with old friends, since lots of my close friends went out of the city to go to school I probably won’t be as close as I was with them. Another concern of mine is the fear that my habit of procrastinating will affect my college life. So far, college life has actually made me more diligent. Getting to class on time is always a big concern for me, since I have classes different times, i have to consider the MTA commute can change and affect my commute. My first college life most definitely make me into a more social person. It has already made me more diligent. Hopefully I will have a good first year of college.
